“The parents must supplement at home the training given by the teacher at school. They must acquaint themselves with the lesson the child receives at school and see that their conduct and advice do not conflict with what the child learns from the teacher whom he adores.” – Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Venkatagiri Town, September 9 1958

“Children must be led into good ways of living, into simplicity, humility and discipline.” – Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Balvikas Gurus Training Camp, June 6 1978

“Parents too must encourage children when they evince any interest in spiritual advancement and study. They must also set good examples.” – Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Nellore, July 25 1958

What is this program about?

God Exists

Man is Divine

The Sri Sathya Sai Educare/Balvikas program is transformational by nature. As a parent, you can enroll your child free of charge in these classes that are conducted once a week in a Sri Sathya Sai Center. (The Educare calendar follows the school calendar in the United States.) As mentioned on the About Educare page , these classes are based on the teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and are universal in nature. They teach the eternal truths that are ingrained in all the world’s faith traditions including Sanatana Dharma, and are based on two fundamental pillars – God Exists and Man is Divine.

Through these classes, children learn to be good human beings and embrace the fact that they are sparks of the Divine, irrespective of who they are or where they come from.

The Class

Classes are held over weekends for an hour. Expect your child to learn from all faith traditions, prayers from all faith traditions and stories that draw from everywhere. Classes teach the highest of spiritual truths through engaging lessons and are based on the teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The ultimate goal of these classes is to encourage children to Love All, Serve All and Help Ever, Hurt Never. Children are nurtured to be good members of their home, and good citizens of their community and country. Every class is based on a spiritual truth or principle that is based on the 5 human values. Students will hear a story that is an ideal of that value, discuss the story and participate in engaging group activities and discussions. All lessons are developmentally appropriate and cater to solutions for the challenges of today’s world. To help children connect to a higher source, no matter what name we call it – Sai, Rama, Krishna, Jesus, Buddha, children will know that it is the basis of everything in our lives. They will learn to sing bhajans in class and most importantly, have an opportunity to practice these values in their daily lives. Students in all groups will engage in participating in service activities of some sort. This teaches that their service to man is service to God.

The Sai Center

SSSE thrives as a strong triple partnership between the guru, the parent, and the child. That partnership creates a community that is supportive of a child’s growth and development. The Sai Center offers more than classes for your child. Depending on where you live or your Center, you will have opportunities to engage in devotional activities and service activities while your child is in class. There is something for everyone in the family, with absolutely no expectations from you, but you can also bring your talent/expertise or interest to the Center and contribute to the greater good.
