Parents
If I want to register my child for classes, what do I do?
Find your local Sai Center here and email the Center Coordinator.
Is there a certain date by which I must register my child?
The SSSE program takes in children all through the year. However, once enrolled, the maximum benefit is achieved only when the child comes to class regularly.
Does it cost anything to enroll my child?
No. Programs offered in the Sathya Sai Centers are free of charge. As per Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s vision - education, water and healthcare must be provided free of charge to everyone irrespective of their economic status or cultural background.
What are the expectations of the SSSE program?
Please read the guidelines published and speak to your Center Education Coordinator.
What do the children learn?
Please visit the Parents section of the page for detailed information Here
Is this a Hindu class?
No. This is a spiritual class that draws the highest spiritual Truths from all faith traditions. Students will learn to love all, serve all and help ever and hurt never. They will learn prayers from all faiths and hear stories from all faiths because we fundamentally follow what Sri Sathya Sai Baba says- There is only one religion, the religion of Love; There is only one God and He is omnipresent.
Gurus
Now that my Center is part of SSSGC, what happens to SSE ?
Under Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, SSE is now renamed as Sri Sathya Sai Educare (SSSE) and will continue to run like it always has in the past. Educare is a term that Sri Sathya Sai Baba has given and means the same as Balvikas (the original name of the program) - to bring out the human values from within and translate them into action. Please continue teaching as you always have and we encourage you to take the SSSGC Gurus Training. Please reach out to your Center Coordinator for information.
Our region and/or center has been using a Theme for each SSSE year. Do we have a Theme this year?
Feel free to decide a theme based on your children's interest. Focus on the content of the lesson rather than ‘theme’. It takes away the simplicity of the lesson which is planned around Swami’s messages and teachings
Do I have access to lesson plans?
Customize your lesson to the needs of your children. When you create a lesson, there is learning that happens in the process of the creation. That is your Sadhana. Also, when you create your own lesson, you are more authentic and credible to the children. A detailed syllabus is going to be released soon for all gurus to use.
Do I have access to resources as a guru?
Yes use this-linktr.ee
Is there an orientation package that I can use to educate parents at the start of the SSSE school year?
You can begin with this video first - Youtube
and then supplement it with your center information. Make sure you have the Sarva Dharma logo and the correct name of the program
Can I use the SSE Manual?
The manual is copyrighted. The content is Swami’s. Feel free to read it as you own it like any other copyrighted book. When you use any information from there, just cite it.
What about Sai Nursery?
Swami is very clear that until the age of 6, the mother is the primary teacher. Children are growing and developing rapidly: physically, socially and emotionally at that age. Most Centers have storytellers for them. No formal lesson plans are to be used for the same reason. Sai Nursery is therefore a service many centers offer to parents for children 4 and 5 years old while parents attend seva or study circle. SSSE classes are only for children 6 and up per Swami’s teachings.
